FIVERR

Recently added a service to FIVERR,  it's only $5.00 that you can charge for each piece of artwork, so I decided to provide just the interior features of the face.  I find you can still get a likeness. After you have provided your service and have happy clients, you can provide more up charge services.  However, after joining, I was disappointed they buried my listing so far down the list of artists, then they sent me an email
"Hi,
You are receiving this email because you have gigs listed on Fiverr and we noticed that you did not visit your account lately.
To keep your gigs listed on Fiverr, please click here. This is made to insure that buyers will not order services from inactive sellers.
Thanks,

The Fiverr Team"

For $5.00 I don't think it's worth it :(

New

Folks, Im re-hosting my caricature website and re-titling it "PartyCaricature.com".  Most of the good names are taken, but this one was available.  I thought it was an easier name than "gift caricatures 4u".  Here is the new banner!

Two new services are being offered!  Digital caricatures and a new remote digital caricature service for those out of reach places.  Click "party caricature" tab to peruse the new site!

Regards

Revamping my Web Site

I am currently using CoffeeCup for my website, but have decided to switch to Wix.  I like the software tools of Wix much better and it seems easier to use.  Wix uses adobe flash for the gallery pictures. Since Flash doesnt work on mobile devices such as the iphone and ipad, it uses a different platform for these devices.  The site should be up and running soon and available for a variety of platforms.  Sample pages below are the home page, live gallery page, and the store page.

Coming Soon

I'm working on a new mini-graphic novel.  Genre is sci-fi horror.  The title is "Slices" - as in slices of time.  This is the banner for the new blog I'll be starting soon sharing all of the goodies about the graphic novel.  Hopefully, I'll get a publisher.

An Insane Amount of Work

I'm toying with the idea of jumping into an insane amount of work - with no guarantee of making any money - a graphic novel.  Yes, I know it is a "me too" idea, but I like the idea of telling stories as opposed to just trying to make a single piece of artwork or illustration.  Im not sure if this is going to be something really good or a colossal waste of time.  Here is a snapshot of some of the panels.  Hint - yes it has zombies in it, what respectable graphic novel is without Zombies?

From the Archives of History Dept.

I was looking through some of my old stuff and found a graphic I did for the Burlington County Community College student newspaper "The Word". I was really into graphic arts during this time.  This was published in December 1975.

This second one was completed about a year later for the Mercer County Community College "The College Voice"

New Banner

I thought I'd update my banner for 2011.  I made it out of caricatures and other cartoons of work I have done over the past year.  Sure my timing is a little late, but what can I say.  I also updated the look with one of the supplied blogger templates. Hope you like.

Henry was created by Carl Anderson in 1932. John Liney was Carl Anderson's assistant on the 'Henry' newspaper strip from 1936. After Anderson's death in 1948, Liney continued the daily strip on his own until 1979. When I was 10 John Liney visited our elementary school, Country Club Elementary School in Willingboro, NJ and held an art contest. I was with my Dad and they had two categories for the art contest, adults and children.  My Dad mistakenly put his entry into the children's pile and won first prize, while my entry won 2nd prize.  When his entry was announced as the children's category first prize and called to the front to receive a drawing from John Liney, my Dad stood up and walked up proudly, oblivious to the laughter of everyone who could see the mistake.  John Liney commented he looked a little big to be a fifth grader.  At that point my Dad realized the mistake and my entry was promoted to first prize and I received this original drawing of Henry.
When John Liney was drawing the Henry comic strip he would appear at schools and clubs across the country giving away original drawings of Henry. He gave away a lot of this same drawing which shows Henry off to fish.  You can also find these on Ebay.  But with mine - he personally gave it to me.  John Liney died in 1982.  I feel lucky to have received this and I have proudly owned it ever since.

I dug this up from a pile of stuff I keep. This is Alfred E Neuman I did when I was 10! You can see the McGovern campaign Button from the summer of 1972!
