Recent Live Digital Caricatures for a Trade Show in Germany

Here are a few samples from a digital caricature event for a trade show in Germany. These are done in my studio in a "live" sense. People at the trade show take pictures of attendees, then post the pictures onto a shared network drive. As soon as the pictures are posted, I draw them on my Wacom tablet and post the caricature onto the shared network drive. I recently did 55 caricatures in about 2 days!

Digital Caricatures from Orlando Trade Show

These are all created in my studio,at home. My client posts the people onto a network shared drive and I provide each caricature in about 10 minutes and post them onto the same shared drive. They print them out for the people attending the trade show. It's a great way of attracting business to your trade show booth.

Live Digital Caricatures

These are a sample of some live digital caricatures I did remotely from my home studio. I did over 100 caricatures for a convention in Austin Tx. The marketing company wanted a caricature artist to provide "caricature id badges" to attract people to their booth. They took a digital snapshot, posted them on an internet dropbox shared folder, and I drew each caricature -real time- and posted them in the drop box after I was done. They printed them out and handed them out. Each one took about 10 minutes, but with breaks and lunch, etc, I was up to about 2 in the morning on the first day and completed about 70 caricatures. The next day the volume was lower and completed about 30 more. But this could be the wave of the future - live digital caricatures from your studio to the location or event.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Orlando's Universal Studios, while on a business trip, and I stopped by Glenn Ferguson's Caricature Booth. Glenn produced this amazing caricature of me! I wasn't timing him, but he probably did this in less than 15 minutes. Amazing work and so fast! Glenn won the 2009 Golden Nosey award from the International Society of Caricature Artists.

One of my first caricatures I did back in the day. This was done for my Boss back in my Air Force days. The Colonel is hammering on about things we should get busy doing. I did this as a going away gift for him in 1984. He always had a stack of books and papers on his desk and a model rocket. P.S. this is before the days when personal computers were prevalent on everyone's desk. They actually had to do things besides stare into computers in those days.
